The following is the oldest known piece of writing in the Ferengi language. It was found carved on a cave wall in the Caverns of Sogg.

#xa0;

Scholars have debated for millennia about the meaning of this crude etching by an unknown author. 0nly three primitive heiroglyphics are used in the statement. The symbol for female, the symbol for profit, and the symbol for male repeated fourteen times (if you haven’t bothered counting them yourself). It can never be known what the author’s intent was when he took his chisel to that virgin piece of stone, but one thing is eminently clear.

The female has the money and the men are dead.

Which in this author’s opinion demonstrates that from the dawn of time, Ferengi males have been aware of the principles behind the Ninety-Fourth Rule of Acquisition:

“Females and finances don’t mix.”
